NCSD Parents of Onsite Learners,
Despite the high Story County Covid Positivity Rate, current mitigation efforts at NCSD have thus far been effective. At this time, NCSD onsite students will remain in our fully Onsite Delivery Model.
Parents have been notified of their child(ren)’s A or B day designation should a change to a Hybrid Delivery Model become necessary in the future. NCSD will continue to monitor our data daily and notify parents if that data is trending upward in an effort to provide parents ample time to prepare for a possible change in the delivery model.
Please continue to encourage your child(ren) to:
- Wear a face covering
- Social distance to the extent possible
- Wash and sanitize hands frequently
- Refrain from touching their face
- Adhere to District protocols
We ask for your continued assistance and diligence so we can remain with onsite learning and complete a great school year. We also ask that if your child or anyone in your household is ill or exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19, please keep your child(ren) at home until symptoms subside or a negative Covid Test has been confirmed. Unfortunately, some children have been sent to school while another family member was awaiting Covid test results. Sending a child to school who was potentially exposed to a positive case could inadvertently lead to a Covid spread at school and remove us from our Onsite Delivery Model.
Below you will find the District’s absenteeism data for this past week, as related to illness and Covid-related absences. You will also find our locally developed Delivery Model Matrix, which will help guide our thought process and decision making. Please understand that there are many variables that may also impact a particular decision. As always, the District will err on the side of caution regarding student safety.
Navigating the school year during this pandemic continues to be a very fluid situation. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.
