On July 12th and 13th, Iowa Public Television staff visited the Nevada FFA Ag Mechanics Lab to produce a short feature on our Ag Mech students rebuilding tractors for the 2019 Iowa State Fair to be featured along with their State Fair Highlights.
“I really enjoyed meeting the students, what a great program!” remarked Laurel Bowers, IPTV program producer. The students were videotaped and photographed working on tractor projects for the county and state fair. Kevin Cooper, Nevada High School agriculture education instructor and FFA advisor, was also interviewed as part of the program. Cooper mentioned how community members and agribusinesses donate most of the tractors to Nevada FFA. Tractors are then sold to fund additional projects, and support program and chapter activities.
