Two Nevada Middle School website projects were chosen as alternates to National History Day at the State History Day Contest held on April 24 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.
Dexter Walker placed third in the individual website category for his project “First Successful Organ Transplant: Breaking the Barrier of Organ Rejection.” Luke Hassel and Cooper Wheelock also placed third for their group website “1965-66 Texas Western University Basketball: Breaking the Color Barrier in NCAA Hoops.”
Only the first and second place projects from each of the nine NHD categories at the State level advance to the National competition.
