Commons is a catalog of resources that enables you to find, import, and share resources. A digital library full of educational content, Commons allows Canvas users to share learning resources with other users as well as import learning resources into a Canvas course.

What can I do with Commons?

  • Find resources (entire courses, course modules (subject, lesson standard, etc.) and import them to your existing canvas course to supplement what you’ve already created
  • Build a course from scratch with relevant materials shared by other Canvas users
  • Find resources for students who need a little extra help understanding something or students who are excelling and need more

How do I access Commons?

  1. From the Global Navigation Menu ( on the left) inside Canvas, click Commons
