As an “open campus” privilege, students in grade 11 and 12 may be allowed to leave the District facilities for when they are not scheduled into courses that do not meet on campus, such as high school or college online courses. To earn “open campus”, the student must be in good academic standing in the rest of their classes (B- or better), not have any outstanding behavior and conduct issues, and have permission from their parents. Students who violate school rules may have this open campus privilege suspended.

The District also has the option for underclassmen who are taking college courses, both on campus and on‐line, or for Advanced Placement courses, of having an “open campus” for the remainder of the semester, once these courses are complete.  To earn “open campus”, the student must be in good academic standing in the rest of their classes (B‐ or better), not have any outstanding behavior and conduct issues, and have permission from their parents.   Students can have the “open campus” revoked at any time if they violate these rules.

Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores maintaining a grade of ‘B‐’ or better in all classes may be permitted open campus privileges during seminar.  Students who violate school rules may have this open campus privilege suspended.

It is the responsibility of the superintendent, in conjunction with the High School principal, to develop administrative regulations regarding this policy.
