Prior to placement in a special education program, a comprehensive evaluation will include the following, when appropriate:

  • Health history
  • Educational history
  • Behavioral observation
  • Hearing
  • Vision
  • Academic status
  • Specific Intervention Data
  • Motor functioning
  • Social functioning
  • Language and speech
  • Adaptive behavior
  • Career/Vocational education needs
  • Other elements deemed appropriate by the diagnostic‐education team

Prior to any initial evaluations (comprehensive or partial), written parental consent will be obtained. Subsequent evaluations will not take place without written notification of parents.
