Annual Progress Reports

New Payment System

Nevada CSD uses RevTrak as the payment processor for the district.  This program integrates with TotalAccess lunch software in real time so money is immediately deposited in lunch accounts.  If your child(ren) have a negative lunch balance, deposits should be made before 11:00 so Food Service staff are able to see this deposit before lunch service begins.

Teacher Qualifications

Share

Parents and Guardians in the Nevada Community School District have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher:

  • Whether the teacher has met state licensing criteria for their grade level(s) and subject area(s) taught
  • Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional status through which state licensing criteria have been wavied
  • The Undergraduate degree major of the teacher and any graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, including the field of discipline of the certification or degree

You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your school operates a school-wide Title I program.

Parents and Guardians may request this information from the Office of the Superintendent by calling (515) 382-2783 or sending a letter to the request of the Office of the Superintendent, 1035 15th Street, Nevada, Iowa 50201.

When any child is provided a substitute teacher for four consecutive weeks in a school that receives Title I funds and the substitute does not meet the highly qualified teacher definition, the school must notify parents of this situation.  The Nevada Community School District ensures that parents will be notified in writing if their child has been assigned, or has been taught by a teacher for four or more consecutive weeks.
